Who I am and what I do

I’m Federica, a freelance illustrator. In my work, I weave together aesthetics, emotion, and meaning to convey beauty and tell the story of what makes a product unique. I like to combine complexity, attention to detail, and a traditional sensibility, even in digital projects. I draw inspiration from plant and animal forms, the female figure, and ethnic and floral motifs.

What I can do for you
  • Illustrations for packaging, with a particular focus on the food and beverage sector: I create labels and illustrated projects for wine, honey, cookies, and other artisanal products. Thoughtful and artistic packaging helps communicate the value of what you produce, especially if you are part of a slow food, quality-focused, and ingredient-conscious environment.
  • Editorial illustrations: images for articles, magazines, independent publications, or digital content aimed at an adult audience. My illustrations are suitable for topics such as culture, identity, symbolism, psychology, wellness, and femininity.

Have another idea? I’m open to anything! Tell me what you have in mind, and let’s see what I can create for you.

Who I work with

I enjoy supporting small and medium-sized businesses, independent producers, publishers, and cultural projects that put heart and value into what they do, and seek an illustrator who can express that visually. I believe this attitude comes from the fact that I’m a small business owner myself, and I love the beauty of small things with a big soul. I think this allows me to better understand people on the other side who put the same care into their work, creating a sense of connection that is essential to an authentic and fruitful collaboration.

You'll enjoy working with me, if...
  • You like my style! It might sound obvious, but it’s not. Are you looking for hyper-realistic or ultra-tech imagery? Maybe I’m not the right person for you 😉 Explore my portfolio (for more developed projects) and my home page (for a broader and more comprehensive overview of my style): does my way of expressing myself visually resonate with you?
  • You’re not looking for a “pre-packaged” solution or something that’s “just pretty,” but appreciate thoughtful and well-crafted work.
  • You believe that a good professional relationship, based on kindness, respect, and fairness, is the foundation for a successful project.

A Little About Me

I was born in a small town in Northern Italy. I love the countryside, and you can see it in the endless array of botanical motifs I put everywhere.

I was born with a pencil in my hand. I studied at an Art High School, and spent every spare minute creating comics and characters, fantastic animals and warrior women… But I didn’t always want to become an illustrator — or rather, I never really believed I could. After high school, I studied and worked for years as a graphic designer, trying to do something that “resembled” drawing while staying in my “comfort zone”. Graphic design gave me valuable technical and communication skills, and taught me how to create illustrations that are not only “beautiful”, but also work within a product or a visual space, whether physical or digital. Only after a very dark period in my life did I decide to take the big leap and follow my dream!

Music is my other great passion! I’ve always sung and experimented with different instruments, and a few years ago I entered the world of live music, with my project SoundShine.

I love cats, reptiles and birds of prey.

Some time ago I discovered the term “ambivert”. I finally found an elegant way to describe my tendency to go from being antisocial to being the life of the party in a split second.

If you’d like a peek “behind the scenes” or want to see more of my projects, follow me on Instagram!

Dicono di me
